Laurie DeVault’s work lives in the liminality of contemporary midcentury and abstract expressionism. Her mark-making employs dreamy biomorphic shapes in unabashed color. The artist translates a sense of, movement, spontaneity, and energy through her non-representational forms and vibrant colors.
