“Sleep Etherea: Transcendence of Human Identity” is an exhibition of transcendental moments of the human experience. The artist wants viewers to ask questions about identity and human interconnectedness and the authority we give to the past. The last few years have challenged her to shed past identities and embrace new ones, but they have also taught her that accepting vulnerability and giving lighter authority to attachments is a continuous battle for the human consciousness. This journey has led her to explore these moments of transformation in her art.  In this body of work, she uses dreamscapes and ethereal figures to explore the unconsciousness and observe the human form in moments of sleep, dream, death and rebirth. With symbolism and metaphor drawn from human mythology, she emphasizes renewal, transformation and metamorphosis. With these paintings, she hopes to express fleeting moments that are beyond our conventional attachment to identity. We look forward to seeing you.
