“Fiction + Familiarity” is a collection of mono-prints by UK artist John Woodcock. These works explore the intricate relationship between surface, texture and changing landscapes. They attempt to tap into a language that resonates with notes of familiarity, yet embrace the infinite possibilities of reinvention indicative of the monoprinting process. Now living in Southern California and Educated at Northumbria University, Woodcock uses a restrictive palette and returns to the most basic elements, light and dark, life and death, purity and absence. A video installation by the artist, complements this work.
