Experience a sound bath meditation while surrounded by Alexander Calder’s mobiles, stabiles, and standing mobiles currently on view in ‘Calder: Nonspace.’ This 90-minute meditation, led by Katie Down of Soundwell Center in New York City, will incorporate a variety of resonant drone instruments including Himalayan metal singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, gongs, drums, rattles, monochords, handpans and the human voice. All instruments featured during the Sound Bath Meditation will be used to encourage mindful, deep listening, while participants are surrounded by Calder’s abstract sculptures that create volumes out of voids. Attendees of this event are required to bring their own yoga mat. Blankets & meditation masks will be provided. Tickets to this event are $15. Space is extremely limited.
